          Although, his name does not ring a bell to most of you, but, IMO, he was one of the most important classical guitar arrangers.

          Karl Scheit is a name that is familiar to many players through his editions of guitar music, including over works in his Musik für Gitarre series for Universal Editions and his guitar chamber-music series for Doblinger.!

          Karl Scheit (* April in Schönbrunn (heute: Svinov, Stadtteil von Ostrava); † November in Wien) war ein österreichischer Gitarrist, Lautenist, Komponist, Musiknotenherausgeber und Musikpädagoge.

          Er war ordentlicher Hochschulprofessor an der Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Wien.

          Karl Scheit wurde als Sohn des Militärkapellmeisters Emanuel Scheit geboren.

          Sein Bruder Albert Scheit war später Flötist an der Volksoper Wien.

          Karl Scheit was one of the leading Austrian guitarists, lutenists and music educators of the 20th Century.

          5. Karl erhielt zunächst Geigenunterricht bei seinem Vater; Gitarre erlernte er, angeregt um durch das Spiel des Mozzani-Schülers Joseph „Sepp“ Bacher (* ),[1] autodidaktisch. Er studierte zuerst Violine am Konservatorium Linz und von bis Gitarre bei Jakob Ortner an der Musikakademie Wien.

          Ab war er als Konzertgitarrist auf Tourneen in Europa, Asien und Amerika. Er gab Konzerte im Rundfunk und spielte viele LPs bzw. CDs ein.
